Step 1: Ordering the test
Getting started with SpotitEarly’s Breath Test is designed to be easy and convenient. The test could be ordered by a doctor or healthcare provider. Whether it’s for routine screening or a proactive check, the test will provide a non-invasive, easy-to-use screening solution.
Once ordered, the Breath Test kit will be delivered straight to the patient’s door, including everything needed to complete it: a face mask, clear “how to” instructions, shipping container and access to our companion app, which will guide users through the entire process.
Step 2: Performing the test
The test itself is designed with comfort in mind and will be able to be taken wherever and whenever is most convenient for patients. This will help make it a stress and pain-free experience.
Here’s how the process works:
- Patients will open the kit and follow the simple instructions provided. A companion app will be available to offer step-by-step guidance as needed.
- The patient will place the mask securely over their face and exhale steadily for three minutes. This process will collect volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from their breath.
- Once finished, patients will seal the sample in the collection container to ensure the integrity of the sample whilst it is in transit.
The whole process will take just a few minutes, making it easy for anyone to use, regardless of age, location or health condition.
Step 3: Shipping your sample
The sealed sample will then be shipped to one of SpotitEarly’s CLIA-certified laboratories. We will make this as easy as possible by providing pre-labelled, secure packaging to every patient.
The companion app will also track the sample’s journey, so patients will know when it reaches the lab. This transparency will also help give peace of mind while the sample is en route.
Step 4: Laboratory analysis
Upon arrival, each sample will be analyzed in two distinct stages, combining nature’s strong sense of smell with the power of advanced technology.
- Canine scent detection: Specially trained dogs will analyze the sample for VOCs linked to cancer. They will be able to identify cancer-related odors with remarkable accuracy. Our test protocol includes multiple assessments of each dog, and each sample will be tested by multiple dogs to confirm the accuracy of the results.
- AI validation: LUCID, our proprietary AI platform, will then analyze the real time data from the test, verifying the results and assigning a confidence score to each test result.
This unique combination of canine olfaction and AI review will ensure unparalleled accuracy, with our detection rates expected to exceed 90% across multiple cancer types..
Step 5: Receiving the results
Once the analysis is complete, SpotitEarly will deliver the results promptly. We understand that time is essential, so we will usually reach out within a few days of receiving a sample.
- If there’s a signal for cancer, A specially trained healthcare professional will contact the medical practitioner to explain the findings and discuss the next steps.
- If there’s no signal for cancer, Our team will discuss the results and answer any questions doctors might have. We’ll also provide reminders for future screenings.
